I hope this email finds you well and gearing up for the weekend. I’m thrilled to share that we’ve secured funding to continue our engagement with the Center On Rural Innovation, focused on developing an action plan to strengthen our digital economy in Franklin County. And I’m writing to invite you to be part of this process.
CORI will be coming to Greenfield to engage us in a two day strategy workshop (details below). Participants do not need to attend both days, and I’m particularly interested in having folks with experience related to the topics below at the table. Tuesday, March 21st – 10am-4pm ET – Topics: DEI / inclusive tech culture building / tech talent development pipeline (training/education and jobs/industry engagement) Wednesday, March 22nd – 10am-4pm ET – Scalable tech entrepreneurship incubation and support / access to capital for the entrepreneur.
Our core work team includes myself (project lead) the FCCDC, FC Chamber of Commerce, FRCOG and City of Greenfield. Given the promise and potential of this work to serve as a catalyst for new economic growth in our region, I would greatly appreciate and benefit from your thoughts on other folks who should be part of the process.
Some quick background:
In the spring of 2021, through a Mass Office of Business Development Grant, we engaged CORI to conduct a digital economy landscape analysis–which I’ve attached for your review. Doc: Greenfield & Franklin County Digital Economy Ecosystem Assessment Report 2021.pdf
Franklin County, with Greenfield as a hub, scored high on several key measures (% of computer science grads), and we’ve made great gains in a few areas where we scored low (entrepreneurial ecosystem building).
This next phase of work with CORI will give us a roadmap for further building out a new economic driver in Franklin County.
If you, or someone in your network, might be interested in joining us, or learning more, I’d love to find a time to connect.
Thanks for all that you do and I look forward to our paths crossing soon.
Onwards! Max
